Minnie and Ree want to make clothing a joy. We want our clothes to be comfy but still stylish and maybe a bit edgy.
Comfortable and easy to wear you cannot help but feel good and look cool when you go out.
Fat Spatula is the love-child of Haumoana based artist Andy Heyward.
It is a label that consolidates many creative pursuits. Under this brand, ideas are dreamt, coffee is consumed, paintings are realised and laughter is had.
While being a self-employed graphic artist, Andy also paints on a regular basis. He is a director and curator of two social-enterprise stores in Hawke’s Bay, Coco and Co in Hastings and The Department of Curiosities and Fine Things in Napier, as well as stocking many fine stores throughout New Zealand. He can also be found at craft markets and shows pimping his art and craft products under the Fat Spatula label.
I consider my work to be deeply shallow and I enjoy bringing a smile to people’s faces. I prefer it when others do the intellectualising about my work, they can often find more meaningful and deeper insights than I was aware of. I am just in this for the laughs . . . and world domination.
